Located in the heart of beautiful rural Dorset in the peaceful hamlet of Woolland, Plumtree Cottage is a semi-detached cottage offering peace and tranquility. Set on a working beef farm and located at the foot of Bulbarrow Hill - with its spectacular views over five counties - it is ideal for birdwatchers, wildlife enthusiasts, walkers and tourists.
Bulbarrow Hill has recently been commemorated as one of the few worldwide areas of outstanding beauty; ranking alongside Beachy Head and the Grand Canyon.
Local amenities offer shopping, pub meals, golf, fishing, horse riding, walking routes, cycling routes etc. Sturminster Newton, the beautiful Georgian market town of Blandford Forum and county town of Dorchester are a short drive away.
Local sightseeing includes Sherborne Castle, Milton Abbas, Cerne Abbas (with its giant!), Shaftesbury and Wimborne. The coastal towns of Bournemouth, Poole, Weymouth, Swanage and Lulworth Cove are about 45 minutes drive. Days out can include Bath, Longleat, Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole, Lyme Regis Winchester, the New Forest and for literary enthusiasts there is the birthplace of Thomas Hardy.

Plumtree Cottage offers en suite facilities sleeping up to 6/8. 2 king bedrooms and 1 twin bedded room. Plus we can add up to 2 guest beds to the king rooms for children (additional charge applicable)
On the ground floor is a modern fully fitted open plan kitchen, dining room and additional large lounge with separate cloakroom/WC.
AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE WILL BE MADE FOR GUEST BEDS AND THIS IS ARRANGED DIRECTLY WITH THE OWNER.
Underfloor heating on both the ground floor and first floor using renewable energy.
Facilities include a superb communal indoor heated swimming pool with gym, sauna, outside private hot tub, games room, outdoor children’s play area and recently we are pleased to be able to introduce complimentary superfast broadband up to 5Gb/s, usage above this will incur a small charge.
Enjoy the peace and quiet; breathe in the countryside air or coarse fish in the private lakes stocked with Mirror Carp, Common Carp and Silverfish.

Try and make the trip to Brownsea Island, a fabulous nature reserve here. Inland on your holiday in Dorset you can enjoy the rolling hills that are so characteristic of the county and explore what has become known as “Thomas Hardy Country”.
The county town of Dorchester, with its High Street lined with 17th and 18th Century houses, is little changed from Hardy’s day, while the pretty town of Shaftesbury has been used as a location in countless films set in Olde England.
